Interval retrieval using VISUAL
"statistics". Truly scientific work MUST be
done to obtain Statistical algorithms so as to optimize correct frequency
detection within well defined confidence intervals.
The current method’s confidence intervals are within +/- 3 cents
for densely stabilised
notes, with little vibrato
(such as those
produced by an electronic device).
Iakovos’s
voice has little vibrato, and compensates somewhat for the overall sample’s noise

Pringos, in an old 78 rpm recording = LOTS of noise,
LOTS of flunctuation therefore quite DIFFICULT to
locate stable passages.
NB: In Gregorian Chant, some hymns of
Tone VIII (e.g. Kyrie
XII “Pater Cuncta”,
“Rex immense pater
pie”) sound better when mainly using the PENTATONIC scale for
passages ABOVE the tonic note (this particular “Kyrie”
resembles psaltic 4th mode.
Notes above Di should contain very
large tones.
Given the debate as concerns the psaltic mode of this hymn (although the text is classified
as being of FOURTH mode), notes will be described from 0 to 1, where 0 is the
lowest note, where the hymn concludes.
The initial and lowest note is at about 329,09 Hz.
